Shifting to Linux

Shifting to Linux

Well, that’s it. I just had my last blue screen (I hope…)

I have decided to do my best to stop using anything starting with MS :)

I used Ubuntu a long time ago and I know it’s not so easy to do this change but I’m really motivated now.
So I’m starting with dual bot of:

  1. Windows 7 64 bit
  2. Ubuntu 9.04 64 bit

My goal is not to use windows at all and shift into Ubuntu only in 2 months.
In that time I’m planing to find alternative softwares and being able to use Ubuntu only for every need.

The main things I need to be able to do:

  1. Surfing the Internet – Well that’s going to be easy, I’m using Firefox anyway
  2. Video Playing – Codec issues, etc.
  3. Music Playing
  4. Simple video editing and capturing – Premier alternative
  5. Photo Editing – Photoshop alternative
  6. PHP + SQL server – I’m sure this is going to be sooo easy…
  7. Softwares like: Picasa, Google Talk/Messenger, Download manager and a lot more I probably forgot
  8. Cool stuff to show off with Linux

Updates Soon…
